Trégastel’s beaches: our guide, from Coz-Pors to Tourony
Trégastel has around a dozen sandy beaches, tucked between the pink granite rocks. Some are lively and lifeguarded, others almost secret. Here are the ones we recommend to our guests, depending on what you’re after.
For families: Coz-Pors
Trégastel’s best-known beach, at the foot of the great granite boulders and just a stone’s throw from the aquarium. Lifeguarded in July and August, it’s practical with children: at low tide, little islets and rock pools appear, perfect for spotting crabs and shrimp. It’s also a stop along the coastal footpath.
For swimming: Grève Blanche
To the west of the village, facing the Île aux Lapins, a long beach of around 500 metres with very pale sand. It too is lifeguarded in July and August, and often slightly less busy than Coz-Pors.

For peace and quiet: Toul Drez
The large beach on the Renote peninsula. It takes around a quarter of an hour’s walk from the car park to reach it, and that’s what keeps it quiet, even at the height of the season. See our guide to the Renote peninsula.
For the view: Tourony
On the border with Ploumanac’h, facing Costaérès castle: one of the finest views on the coast, whatever the tide. See the castle’s history.
And the rest
There’s also the more low-key Grève Rose, the Grève de Quo Vadis, whose name recalls the stay of the Polish writer Henryk Sienkiewicz at Costaérès castle, and Sainte-Anne beach: in total, the town council lists thirteen sandy beaches in the area.
Good to know
- The tide changes everything: a huge beach at low tide can almost disappear at high tide. Check the tide times before settling in.
- The Channel water stays cool, even in August.
- Lifeguarded beaches are staffed in July and August; the lifeguard posts and opening times are posted by the town council.
- With a dog, rules vary from beach to beach and by season: check with the tourist office or town hall.
